Virginia Lafond's CBT Blog

I am writing from my lessons learned as:

~ a CBT daily user
~ a social worker (retired) and CBT practitioner (retired)
~ an author
~ a CBT teacher

The blog will begin with the basics of the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) course I designed and taught for more than a decade at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre.  Through my study and practice of CBT for people with serious mental health problems, I discovered that many CBT tools suggested to help people manage voices, painful thoughts and paranoia, could actually be of help to anyone of us. In teaching, I endeavoured to describe – in the simplest way possible – basic CBT theory and how and when to use CBT tools.

I hope you find my site of some help. To get started, just click on BLOG at the top of this page.

I’m happy to receive your comments or questions.

Best wishes!   Virginia
